Redwood Children’s Services, Inc. (RCS) is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that has been providing family services in Mendocino and Lake Counties since 1995. The Founder and Executive Director, Camille Schraeder, was raised in foster and residential care, and because of her own experiences she maintained a vision to create an organization that would include caring staff and cutting edge services. Many of the youth we serve have come to rely on our program and staff as part of their “family” even after they emancipate from care. RCS feels a sense of responsibility to these youth and that is why our youth smile when we commonly say “Once an RCS kid, always an RCS kid”.
RCS offers treatment and intensive treatment foster care services; residential treatment services; a short-term shelter and crisis intervention residential facility; transitional housing services for older adolescents and specialized services for the developmentally delayed. RCS mental health services in Lake and Mendocino Counties improve the lives of low-income children, youth, and families in our community through preventative, supportive, and intensive mental health services.
